on new year and new beginnings?

So I have been thinking about what is going to my next post? Then I realised… It’s New Year’s Eve you dumbass. I guess I’m going to post the cliché “new beginnings” post.

What do I want to get out of 2015?

1. Do well with the blog. (My definition of do well is posting regularly – I know, a bit pathetic.)

2. Be more cultured. Museums, concerts and books. I got behind this past year and I definitely need to reinvent myself again.

3. Get first class in my first year at university.

4. Get an internship in media-related field.

5. Expand my social life beyond my flatmates, my family and a few coursemates.

6. Get a job!

7. Improve my writing.

8. The classics – exercise and eat healthy. However, I have strong doubts that I will really do this.

9. Apparently I need to treat myself better. So called loving – myself. I honestly think that I don’t need to this but some people have told me that I need to take care of myself better, whatever that means. So let’s do this, right?

10. Do something meaningful and find 2015 absolutely amazing.

After my kind of new year’s resolutions I’m gonna address what I actually think about today. Hm. I used to loved it. The fireworks. The cold. The midnight. I have never spent a single New Year’s Eve without my family. Which is kind of pathetic or endearing – depends how you look at it. I see something it as something in between. Few years ago I wished I could get away. Now I don’t really mind anymore. Don’t feel like staying up until the morning and getting drunk – there are other occasions for this, definitely. So now, few hours before midnight I’m kinda trying to write a blog post. And I enjoy it. So maybe I might be able to do no. 1 this year. Fingers crossed.

I’m still deciding what my next post is going to be about. I have so many opinions on so many things that I want to get out but I want my blog to look/be concise. Should my next post be another book review? Or about a TV show? Or a movie? Such a dilemma.

Anyway, happy new year. I see you (I do realise that not a single person have read this but hopefully someone will soon) in 2015!

Your Know-it-all

on Bully (Fall Away #1) by Penelope Douglas.

Hello again.

One of the recent factors that convinced me to start a blog was Goodreads. Since I was young, I have loved reading. However, in the past two years I stopped reading books and instead watch movies and TV shows. Excessively. Goodreads showed me how many great books there are for me to read instead of just fanfiction (I will definitely address this again). And I explored the world of new-adult genre. I’ve read around twenty new-adult books in the past few weeks so I decided to start with them until the end of the holidays when new episodes of TV shows are coming out!

Anyway, my first book to review is Bully (Fall Away #1) by Penelope Douglas.

So how did I come across this book? Because of my lacking romantic life I decided to get lost in a love story (pathetic, I know). I googled “love-hate relationship books” and this one was quite high on the Goodreads list. The rating were quite high as well, however the top review was only for 1* which made me a bit sceptical. Now moving on to the actual reading.

My name is Tate. He doesn’t call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all. No, he’ll barely even speak to me.

But he still won’t leave me alone.

We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I’ve been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to stay out of his way. I even went to France for a year, just to avoid him.

But I’m done hiding from him now, and there’s no way in hell I’ll allow him to ruin my senior year. He might not have changed, but I have. It’s time to fight back.

I’m not going to let him bully me anymore.

bring it on.

I’m trying this out. I recently realised that I have way too much opinion on almost everything. And I want to share this. I might not all the time but that’s OK. What am I going to write about? I’m going to post “reviews” on books that I have read, movies I have seen, places I’ve been, TV shows I have religiously followed or pop culture related news. Anything and everything. If I feel brave enough, I might even write something about more “serious” stuff like politics, economics etc. But I’d rather not, despite me being the know-it-all. Hahaha. So that’s what I am going to talk/write/rant about. I feel like a narcissistic weirdo, who just won’t shut up. Oh well. I’ve tried this many times but failed miserably (repeatedly) because of my lack of commitment and just not knowing what I want to say exactly. This is my chance though, wish me luck!

Bring it on.
