on Teach Me by Amy Lynn Steele.

I have been MIA these past few days because… I hit a wall. Not literal one, just writing wise and book wise. I’ve read a few books but let’s be honest, they were not anything special and I didn’t feel like reviewing them. I have finally watched 22 Jump Street though, that was funny! But again, I just didn’t feel it. Weird, right? However, I have an exciting news. I have tickets for Fifty Shades of Grey in 2 weeks. I’m honestly very, very excited for it even though I’m not that big fan of the books. So now I promise you, I will review it. In 2 weeks! But back to business. The other day, I bought a book on Amazon called Teach Me. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. And here’s why.

Synopsis: 16078128

When she was eight, Allison Starr began spending her summers with her aunt in San Diego. Nearly ten years later she is focused on her last year of high school and which colleges to apply to, not the attractive surfer who keeps showing up at the little corner of beach where she reads. She has no interest in a romantic relationship, especially one that starts in the summer and would be long distance. Ali tries to ignore him, but finds the boy on the beach much more distracting than the words in her books.

Cooper Perez has never surfed the same beach this many days in a row. He just can’t seem to change spots until he has the courage to talk to the girl who is always reading her books in the shade. When he finally approaches her he is overwhelmed with the instant attraction he feels for this beautiful and intelligent girl, even though she is three years younger. Cooper and Allison spend the rest of the summer together discovering their love of many things, including each other.

Summer eventually comes to an end, but their love does not. Allison heads home to start her senior year, but an opportunity brings Cooper closer to Allison than either of them would have expected.

Mr. Perez is the new English teacher at Allison’s high school.

The tables have turned. Now I have the power—and it’s his turn to beg…

Everyone wants to be me.

Maybe it’s the sway of my skirt or the way I flip my hair, but I don’t care. Even though their

attention is the last thing I crave, I just can’t stop. I dominate the track, the speed rattles my bones, and the wind and the crowd screams my name.

I’m her. The girl driver. The queen of the race. And I’m surviving—something he thought I’d never do.

They all talk about him. Did you see Jared Trent on T.V? What did you think of his last race, Tate? When is he coming back to town, Tate?

But I refuse to care too much. Because when Jared does come home, I won’t be here.

Tatum Brandt is gone. I’m someone new.

on Seduced In The Dark (The Dark Duet #2) by C.J. Roberts.

Hi again.

I’m here with a review of the second book in The Dark Duet series. Yesterday, I wrote about my feelings toward Captive In The Dark… I finished Seduced overnight and yes, I am very tired and sleepy. Was it worth it? Yes and no. I don’t want to give anything away, but I liked it a bit more than than the first book. I think it’s because the story was developed better. Anyway, let’s talk about this! And don’t forget, this series is full of violence and some disturbing stuff. Don’t continue if you aren’t ready!

seduced in the darkBOOK TWO OF THE DARK DUET
The exciting, titillating, and action-filled conclusion to Captive in the Dark.

What is the price of redemption?

Rescued from sexual slavery by a mysterious Pakistani officer, Caleb carries the weight of a debt that must be paid in blood.

The road has been long and fraught with uncertainty, but for Caleb and Livvie, it’s all coming to an end.

Can he surrender the woman he loves for the sake of vengeance?

Or will he make the ultimate sacrifice?

It seemed to Caleb, the nature of human beings revolved around one empirical truth: we want what we cannot have. For Eve, it was the fruit of the forbidden tree. For Caleb, it was Livvie.

on Captive In The Dark (The Dark Duet #1) by C.J. Roberts.

I haven’t posted in a few days because I’ve been deciding what to post next. Sorry for that, if you’re reading this regularly. (Please, please, please!) Anyway, Captive In The Dark intrigued me for a long time. I could not decided if I want to read this or not. The reviews were very mixed ranging from “this is soooo disturbing” to “this was fucking mind-blowing”.  This book is suppose to be very disturbing, containing very explicit scenes and includes BDSM. It’s definitely more disturbing than Fifty Shades. So if you’re not up for it, don’t read this review because my curiosity got the best of me and I have read it.

captured in the dark

Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Finally, the architect of his suffering has emerged with a new identity, but not a new nature. If Caleb is to get close enough to strike, he must become the very thing he abhors and kidnap a beautiful girl to train her to be all that he once was.

Eighteen-year-old Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound, there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb, though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him.

WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence.

on Pushing The Limits by Katie McGarry.

This article was meant for yesterday but some unfortunate things have happened and I needed to postpone it. I found this book few days ago and it was time to read it. I wasn’t disappointed and read it in one go. As usual. This book touched me and I can’t wait to write a review! So here we go.

pushing the limits

They say be a good girl, get good grades, be popular. They know nothing about me. I can’t remember the night that changed my life. The night I went from popular to loner freak. And my family are determined to keep it that way. They said therapy was supposed to help. They didn’t expect Noah. Noah is the dangerous boy my parents warned me about. But the only one who’ll listen. The only one who’ll help me find the truth. I know every kiss, every promise, every touch is forbidden. But what if finding your destiny means breaking all the rules? A brave and powerful novel about loss, change and growing up, but most of all love.

on Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire.

Hello there.

I wanted to give you something new but I’ve been busy writing my assignment last night, so I haven’t read anything new. However, there still are books that I want to talk about! Beautiful Disaster is one of the most popular New Adult books on Goodreads. It was very high on my list of must-read and when I did… I was left with mixed feelings. Here it goes, but I should warn you, you might not like what I have to say.

beautiful disaster

The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs—and wants—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

on Charade (Games #1) by Nyrae Dawn.

Hello there.

I know I kind of promised Point of Retreat (Slammed #2), but I didn’t want to write another review like yesterday. Long story story short: I read it, didn’t like it, found another book. Which was a great decision! My list of to-read is quite long and after that I have a longer list of to-read so it’s not like I should browse Goodreads more. But I did and stumble on Charade. And I don’t know why, but the preview was good enough to make me read this book. So I did. And I loved it. And here is more about it!

Nineteen-year-old Cheyenne tries to portray the perfect life to mask the memories of her past. Walking in on her boyfriend with another woman her freshman year in college threatens that picture of perfection.

Twenty-one-year-old Colt never wanted college and never expected to amount to anything, but when his mom’s dying wish is for him to get his degree, he has no choice but to pretend it’s what he wants too.

Cheyenne needs a fake boyfriend to get back at her ex and Colt needs cash to take care of his mom, so they strike a deal that helps them both. But what if Cheyenne’s past isn’t what she thought? Soon they’re trading one charade for another—losing themselves in each other to forget about their pain. The more they play their game, the more it becomes the only thing they have that feels real.

Both Cheyenne and Colt know life is never easy, but neither of them expect the tragedy that threatens to end their charade and rip them apart forever.
