on Aflame by Penelope Douglas.

I CAN’T EVEN CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT. Obviously, I read it in one go, right after it was released at midnight. I’ve been waiting for this since January!!! And it was absolutely worth it!!! Let me just totally fangirl this review and then I think I might be ready to think about something else.

Aflame Cover

From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Bully, Until You, Rival, and Falling Away comes the sizzling conclusion to the Fall Away series.

The tables have turned. Now I have the power—and it’s his turn to beg…

Everyone wants to be me.

Maybe it’s the sway of my skirt or the way I flip my hair, but I don’t care. Even though their attention is the last thing I crave, I just can’t stop. I dominate the track, the speed rattles my bones, and the wind and the crowd screams my name.

I’m her. The girl driver. The queen of the race. And I’m surviving—something he thought I’d never do.

They all still talk about him. Did you see Jared Trent on T.V? What did you think of his last race, Tate? When is he coming back to town, Tate?

But I refuse to care too much. Because when Jared does come home, I won’t be here.

Tatum Brandt is gone. I’m someone new.

Review: (*may contain mini spoilers*)

My hands were literally shaking when Aflame came up on my kindle. That’s how excited I was for this. And it did not disappoint! If you have been reading my reviews for awhile, you know that Jared Trent is my ultimate book babe. And Tate is someone I wish I could be! I feel like there are million things I want to tell you, but my mind just turned into a mush. This review is not articulate at all.

Okay. Let’s start with Jared. After seeing him again in Aflame, I completely understand Ms Douglas’ reason to break my favourite book couple of all time. I had full trust in her, but I still wasn’t sure if the break up was necessary. However, the portrayal of Jared was so incredible, that I was so bloody happy that she broke them up at the end of Falling Away. Jared had undeniably grown as a son, as a friend, as a brother and as a boyfriend. I couldn’t believe it was possible to love him more. Jared, you ruined my love life!

i love you

Tate, the perfect Tate… What I admire the most about her is her strength. And in this book, she proved again how independent, strong, smart and just overall how beautiful she was. I completely understood her determination to ignore Jared and just show him how much better off she was without him, because…GIRL POWER! Aflame really did have a strong message towards girl power, because of its amazing girl characters like Juliet, Fallon and even Katherine. Basically, this book was everything I loved, wanted and much much more.

Meryl approves

I’m glad that no one saw me reading Aflame, because I must have looked like a total idiot with my outbursts of laughter and crying. Or just generally swooning. I loved this book so much, I can’t even describe it to you. It was an absolute sensation, seriously. I loved that there wasn’t unnecessary drama, but it was truly a story how to soul mates are reuniting!

I have to also mention Madoc and Jax, who initiated my ultimately favourite scene from the Fall Away series. Their intervention to wake up Jared was so perfect! When Jared realised that he can’t just “fuck around” and has to get Tate back for good, I did a victory dance! The reason why I loved it so much was that Jared had his best friends explain it to him. And it just showed how much this group of friends care about each other.

I could go on and on about Aflame, but I’m going to stop now. I can’t believe that this is the end of their journey, but I am so, so happy that they all found their happy endings. And when I miss them? I’m just going to re-read the series all over again! If you haven’t bought Aflame, go and BUY IT! Or if you don’t know Penelope Douglas, go read all of her books, because there won’t be one that would disappoint you. Thank you so much for this series!

Rating: 6 out of 5, that’s how amazing this book is!

I hope you will read Aflame and drop a comment here!
